Trinity Engineering is the only company that has developed a five-speed all synchromesh conversion for the DB2/4 range. The original David Brown gearbox works very well but with no synchromesh on a straight-cut first gear it does have a feel that cannot be improved upon. The Trinity Engineering conversion gives a high MPH per/thousand revs for effortless touring and increased MPG with all of the increased performance benefits of a smooth short-shift close ratio gearbox.
If you own a DB4 then we can convert the gearbox to the original specification overdrive unit. We also carry out all of the chassis alternations to locate the gearbox, and remanufacture the gearbox tunnel and carpeting to make it look like an original fitment option. The original Borg-Warner automatic gearbox fitted to the DB6 along with the Torque-Flite unit fitted to the V8 model range can be replaced with a modern five-speed unit enhancing not only the driving enjoyment but also the value of the car.
We carry out an upgrade to the V8 model range Torque-Flite gearbox to sharpen the gear changes and reduce the wasteful slip. Fitting this in conjunction with carrying out a regular gearbox service achieves a level of performance most owners have never experienced. For the ultimate automatic conversion to a V8 we fit a modern four-speed gearbox with similar ratios to the Torque-Flite but with the addition of an overdrive gear that both reduces engine speed and transforms fuel economy.
